This workshop will cover all the basics of yoga, from breath, to bandhas, and cover the foundations of the classic Sun Salutation.
Meditation and Guided Imagery Workshop
Cost is $25. per person
This workshop will cover the basics of meditation. We will explore and practice many varieties of meditation and will complete the class with a Guided Imagery Practice.

Meditation and Visualization Workshop
In this workshop we explore what it means to meditate through breath work and techniques in relaxation, both guided and individual. We will also learn about the many benefits of visualization, affirmation and setting your intention. This is a hands on approach to both modalities. We will discuss how and why we react the way that we do to stress and how to best overcome and reprogram our responses to those stresses. Wear comfortable clothing and bring a notebook and an open mind.
(Do not drink alcohol 24 hours prior to workshop, eat 1 to 2 hours before workshop)
Instructor Summer Smith
Summer Smith is a 200 hr. ERYT (Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher) through Yoga Alliance and the founder of
Yama Yoga Studio. She has a background in
competitive gymnastics which led her quite naturally
into yoga in 2005. Summer studied with Dr. Patti Mason
of HypnoDynamics, Inc. while living in Sonora, California and is also a Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist. She has
a background in meditation and visualization techniques, Team Building and Self Empowerment.
Self Hypnosis-The Inner Workout
In this workshop we will learn the basics of hypnosis… what it is and what it isn’t. You will learn why and how hypnosis works using a very natural state of brain wave activity called alpha waves, to enter the hypnotic state, and then how to influence your thoughts, goals and desires using this very effective state of mind.
SELF-HYPNOSIS WORKSHOP
Self-hypnosis is probably one of the most beneficial tools you can learn to create peace and relaxation in mind and body. Self-hypnosis not only releases and relieves stress, but it also has been proven in many cases to extend the quantity and quality of life.
By creating a relaxed state of being for your body and mind and practicing this state of being on a regular basis, two to three times a day, gives the muscles, nerves and cells time to rest and recuperate. It is also beneficial to critical organs and body functions in the body. By allowing your internal organs and glands to relax, they are better able to function properly and do the things they were designed to do to keep the body healthy.
But perhaps the most exciting and useful benefit of self-hypnosis is that it allows you to use the power of visualization and mental imagery to achieve goals and create positive outcomes. The imagination is the most powerful tool we have for success (or failure)… what you envision in your mind is usually what you get in your reality, a sort of self-fulfilling prophesy. By creating positive images and outcomes, you are actually giving a positive message to every part of your body and mind. Your mind creates your reality and your body follows the beliefs of the mind. Therefore if you have a tool to change negative thoughts and images into positive and successful outcomes, you will have a fuller and richer life and a healthier body and mind.
